2nd Thatcham Scout Group is one of the most active Scouting groups in Berkshire and we're growing.

 

With a programme designed for 4 to 14 year olds, it's never too late to join the group. With nights away, trips and outdoor adventures, we have a full programme for everyone.

 

If you already have a friend with us, ask them to tell their leaders you wish to join us.

 

Where we meet

 

The Headquarters of our Group is on the southern edge of the Memorial Field in central Thatcham, behind the Memorial Hall and Thatcham Bowls club. 

 

Weekly meetings of all sections normally take place here but in the summer months we often meet outside, either on the Memorial Field or at  Angel’s Corner Scout campsite in Bucklebury. Your child’s Leader will advise you in advance when the meetings are away from the  Headquarters (The Hut).

Parking

 

There are two public carpark available when picking up or dropping off your Scout. 

 

Gilbert Court East Car Park is operated by West Berkshire Council.

Parking here is free of charge for up to one hour.

Up to one hour Free - a valid ticket must be displayed

Up to two hours £0.60

Up to three hours £0.90

Over three hours £2

War Memorial Car Park is operated by SMART Parking 

The car park is monitored by Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR).  All drivers using the car park must pay the tariffs as advertised or a PCN may be issued. Keeping your engine running or staying in your car does not change the fact you are using the car park.

 

DO NOT park in the spaces reserved for the Memorial Hall.   These are for the sole use of those hiring function rooms and those visiting the Foundation Office. Signage clearly states that unauthorised users of this car park will receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).
